About CookUnity:

Food has lost its soul to modern convenience. And with it, it has lost the power to nourish, inspire, and connect us. So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 50 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.

Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.

If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.

The role:

As a Principal Product Manager for the CookUnity Product team, you will be at the forefront of enabling users to see the right pricing, promotions, and payment methods throughout the entire customer lifecycle and that their experience is consistently seamless. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, hypothesizing solutions, creating and managing roadmaps, and working cross-functionally to execute growth initiatives. As a platform service, you will be at the center of new promotional capabilities, fraud and abuse mitigation, dynamic pricing models, and payment processing success rates.

Responsibilities:

  • Own, drive and shape the revenue engine product strategy and roadmap, which includes increasing payment success rates, unlocking new promotional capabilities, and preventing fraud and abuse.
  • Analyze payment trends and processing drop-off points to identify growth and retention opportunities
  • Design and run A/B tests across payment and promotional touchpoints on web and app surfaces
  • Establish clear intake, prioritization, and decision frameworks for stakeholder requests, ensuring transparency and consistency across teams.
  • Lead the Revenue Engine Engineering squad to rapidly ship and iterate on improvements that meet team and company goals
  • Work closely with Growth Marketing, Business Operations, Legal, Infrastructure, Security, and Shopper Experience teams to align platform innovations with company goals
  • Drive execution on key product levers that drive growth and engagement for the overall ecosystem through cross-organizational partnership
  • Write clear, efficient product specs and collect data on what works and what doesn’t
  • Drive clear outcome metrics (e.g. payment success rates, conversion, early retention, promo abuse rate, etc)
  • Surface insights and learnings regularly with key stakeholders and executive leadership

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. An MBA, a higher degree, and past experience in fraud and payment services are pluses.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in product management, mostly building consumer facing products and leading product teams.
  • Passion for food, technology, and creating memorable user experiences.
  • You have experience working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment; leading strategic roadmap prioritization processes with senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing stakeholder requests, negotiate trade-offs, and set clear expectations with Growth and Lifecycle teams.
  • Strong business and financial acumen; ability to evaluate promotional strategies based on ROI, margin impact, and long-term customer value.
  • You have excellent communication skills, especially when it comes to articulating business logic to technical partners and inspiring a distributed team.
  • You have technical proficiency with Product Management tools such as writing product briefs, user stories, performing analytics, building wireframes & prototypes, and QA testing.
  • You have a strong data-driven and analytical mindset, which you use to set hypotheses, narrow in on opportunities, and drive impact on KPIs
  • Experimentation experience in designing A/B and multivariate tests, synthesize test results and build frameworks to make data-informed launch decisions
  • You are a DO-er. You get things done with others and across teams with a problem-solving mindset and avoid unnecessary conflict.
  • Creative product ideation experience to apply growth tactics broadly to different product areas and think through detailed elements of a product experience
  • Experience clearly communicating data driven product insights to influence leadership direction
  • Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL) and visualization tools such as Tableau and MixPanel

Personal traits:

  • Entrepreneurial with a high level of energy, and an unrelenting drive to succeed and win.
  • Masters the stretch of strategic, big picture thinking and hands-on, ‘getting things done’ mentality that generates immediate impact
  • Collaborative and results-oriented leader, business partner and change agent who can lead through influence and possesses professional maturity and industry credibility.
  • Superior communication, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Highly intellectual – ability to think deeply, qualitatively and quantitatively about business problems, breaking down issues and presenting solutions.
  • Strong mix of conceptual, data-driven, and analytical capabilities but also a hands-on and agile mentality

Technologies You’ll Use

  • Mixpanel, SiteSpect, and other solutions
  • Snowflake, SQL, Looker, and internal data platforms
  • Figma (with Design), Jira (with Eng), and Slack (with stakeholders and colleagues)
  • Tableau

Benefits

product initiatives where leverage is highest.

This is a high-ownership role with real business responsibility, not a feature factory position.

What you’ll own

Smart Fridges (Primary)

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and execution for Smart Fridges (hardware, software, ops, and UX).

  • Define and prioritize the roadmap across:
    • Fridge software
    • Hardware & IoT flows
    • Computer vision, inventory, and ordering logic
    • Operational workflows (installations, refills, failures, edge cases)

  • Partner closely with engineering, design, ops, data, and clients.
  • Drive outcomes across conversion, retention, reliability, and unit economics.
  • Be accountable for shipping, learning, and iterating fast in a real-world, non-perfect environment.

Partnerships & Integrations

  • Lead product ownership of strategic integrations (external partners, platforms, APIs).
  • Translate partnership agreements into clear product requirements and technical scopes.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure:
    • Clean integrations
    • Scalable flows
    • Clear ownership and SLAs
  • Identify opportunities to turn integrations into growth or retention levers, not just technical connections.

Cross-cutting / General Product Support

  • Help bring structure to ambiguous or fast-moving initiatives.
  • Act as a force multiplier for the product org: unblock, simplify, and push things forward.

What success looks like

  • Smart Fridges has a clear backlog, fewer fires, and measurable improvements in key metrics.
  • Integrations ship faster, with less ambiguity and fewer surprises.
  • External partners feel aligned and confident working with us.
  • Teams have clarity on what we’re building, why, and what success means.
  • Leadership trusts you with increasingly complex and strategic problem spaces.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager.
  • Proven experience owning complex systems (multi-team, multi-stakeholder).
  • Strong ability to operate in ambiguity and bring structure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable working across engineering, design, ops, and external partners.
  • Business-minded: you care about outcomes, not just shipping features.

Strong plus

  • Passion for the healthcare and food-is-medicine industry.
  • Experience with hardware, IoT, marketplaces, or logistics-heavy products.
  • Experience with integrations, APIs, or platform products.
  • Experience working with partnerships or external vendors.
  • Startup or high-growth environment experience.

Why is this role interesting?

  • You’ll work on a rare mix of hardware + software + ops + partnerships.
  • You’ll have direct exposure to leadership and real influence on product direction.
  • You’ll help scale products that exist in the physical world, with real constraints and real impact.
  • This role can grow significantly as the product surface area expands.
